Dogs are being bred, fought, inured and killed right here in this neighborhood. It is happening in your neighbor's basements, in abandoned buildings, in parks, under over passes, and now even in car trunks. Dog fighting is a vicious so-called "sport" but it is also big BUSINESS. Groups of people gamble on which dog will survive the fight, betting large amounts of money and fighting dog after dog. Female dogs are bred over and over and their puppies are being sold for hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars. These dogs live miserable lives, and often the puppies are sold to fighters or irresponsible owners. These dogs are sold without so much as a care to whom or where they go. They are "income". Dogs that are fought are NOT by nature aggressive dogs - they are taught, bred and tortured to become aggressive. They are often beaten and starved in order to bring out aggression. Pit bulls and other "fighting" dogs are NOT vicious dogs by nature. This is why we need people to STOP the breeding and STOP the fighting.
